PINKEYE SHIELD® XT4
With a single dose of Pinkeye Shield® XT4, you can protect your herd against Moraxella bovis, the leading bacterial cause of pinkeye worldwide. Pinkeye is easily transmitted from animal to animal by flies that feed on eye secretions of infected animals. Most affected animals will recover within three to four weeks, but some will have persistent corneal scars, others may be permanently blinded.
All ages of cattle can be affected by pinkeye. Pinkeye is a seasonal disease, with most cases seen in late spring, summer, and early fall – the time of year with the most sunlight and fly exposure.
If affected animals are detected early and treated aggressively, they usually recover with minimal to no permanent eye damage. But treatment is expensive and time-consuming, so prevention is a preferred alternative.
